CMA heads to Springfield for Annual Advocacy Day

April 26, 2018

Greetings Members of CMA!

The Chicago Metropolitan Association and Faith in Place have entered a partnership through the Off the Pew Project, and this Thursday, April 26 is the upcoming Annual Advocacy Day in Springfield. This is the day where thousands of faithful citizens load the buses and head to our State Capital to make our presence known and our voices heard concerning the environment. It is late notice, but if you can be one additional person on the bus, it would be a great support to the CMA’s partnership with Faith in Place. You’d be doing the work the United Church of Christ is known for—advocating for environmental equality and against environmental injustices as we are the ones who coined the phrase “environmental racism” that is now a household word in Environmental Justice circles.

Please be or send at least one person from your congregation to join us in Springfield to meet with our legislators, stand on the State Capital steps and rally for a better, healthier and greener Illinois for all of its citizens.

Click the following link Advocacy Day 2018 (flyer)  for instructions on how you can get on the bus to Springfield.   You should also feel free to make copies of the flyer and distribute them to get others to participate.
